Rebecca Fleming Rebecca Fleming - Australia

    Age started dancing?
I started dancing when I was 6 and a half.

    Why did you start?
I was introduced through my first theatrical dancing school and thought I would give it a try due to my dads Scottish background.

    First Teacher?
    Natalie Green

    Current Teacher?
    Cheryl and Amy Roach

    Competitive Highlights?
In 2002 I won the 13, 14, 15 years Champion of Champions fulfilling one of my ambitions in my dancing career.

    Overseas:
The Scottish Championships at Cowal, 2002. I had the best time competing with the very best in the world and gaining my first Cowal Medal, a 6th in the Seann Truibhas.

    Favorite Competition?
    Drummoyne – NSW State Championships
World Championships, Cowal ( I would love to qualify)

    Why this is your favorite?
I like Drummoyne because I won my first Championship there.
I like the World Championships because the best of the best is there and the atmosphere is great.

    Non Competitive Highlights?
Dancing for the Queen in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2002 and my family on the same night!
Just going to Scotland and visiting my relatives and experiencing the amazing landmarks and dealing with the famous Scottish weather.

    Favorite Dance and Reason?
All the aboyne dances because they’re fun and you can relax and really show your enjoyment.

    Funniest Dancing Memory?
Not long ago, I slipped and fell onto my bottom in the middle of the blue bonnets, centre stage and leaving the other dancers to dance around me. It was highly embarrassing trying to recover and retain some dignity!!
