Kirstie Brown Kirstie Brown - Scotland

    Age started dancing and why?
It was just before my 3rd birthday, we lived across the road from the Milngavie highland games, I saw the kids dancing and decided from then that I wanted to dance.

    First teacher & current teacher?
First Teacher: Sheila Mason -Milngavie (who saldly after a long fight fron breast cancer passed away on Easter Monday 2007)
    Current Teacher - Shendl Russel

    Competitive highlights?
My competitive highlights would have to be when I won my first Championship at the Granite City Championships and also when I qualified for the World Championship finals in 2007.

    Favourite competition and why?
I have a couple. The first one being Cowal because I get to meet up with all my friends, the atmosphere is amazing, and it is the biggest challenge of the dancing year. I also love Balloch highland games, its was one of the first games I went to when I started competing when I was 5, it also has very special memories for me.

    Non-competitive highlights?
When I danced at the american Navy Base in 2005 and then again at the X Factor in Glasgow (that was amazing)

    Favourite dance & reason?
I love dancing the reel because I enjoy dancing with the other dancers, and it is the final dance of a championship. I also love the Blue Bonnets, Hornpipe & Jig.

    Funniest dancing memory?
When i was about 8 years old i was dancing my hornpipe the girl next to me started to pee her pants, it was running all down the stage and i was trying to dance over it. It was such a shame for the wee girls but mum said my face was a picture.
